A lot of clients ask me about CBD dosage, and when it comes to the right CBD dosage unfortunately there is not an easy answer I can give; however, with some simple math and your own research you can achieve ultimate results. Keep in mind that CBD isn't different than any other drug and its affects depend on several things in which all drugs depend on. First, a major factor is how is it delivered. Anything you ingest goes through the digestive system and providing your liver isn't compromised your liver does a fantastic job on filtering out toxins this includes diluting the drug that you are trying to get in your bloodstream. Topicals are great for anything local as topicals will penetrate the layers of the skin but rarely enter the bloodstream. For those that are looking for something fast acting I recommend smoking or tincture (under the tongue) to ensure immediate delivery to the bloodstream. Secondly, YOU yes you are a factor in all your medication results. Remember each body is different so what works for me may or may not work for you. With any medicine your weight, metabolism, diet, condition being treated, the severity of your illness, and of course your tolerance will all play apart in how the medicine works for you.
Research, Research, Research and Record, Record, Record......repeat this with me research and record! I often ask patients when you go buy a new phone or computer do you just pick one off the shelf and walk away or do you research then make your choice? Most of them answer I make sure it is fast, has great graphics.... etc. Well, OK not all medicines are created equal, and should be treated as such. If/when you decide to self-medicate you need to do your research and record everything. When you find two/three good products you think you want to try write down the pros and cons of each brand, delivery method, content (ingredients), and recommend dosage on the bottle. Once you start taking the medicine remember don't expect a miracle overnight. It's important to realize that it may or may not work. Be patient with your body. The body is an amazing and complicated thing and when you may think something isn't going to turn out your way it does. Don't give up on your body as that is the worst thing you can do. If that brand or dose doesn't work don't give up pick yourself back up and try again. Remember the perfect cure/solution isn't created overnight. Also, a good tracking of results is about a month. Now to answer the hot question of the day: How do I does?
Each CBD oil product will have a different dosage amount and a different percentage of CBD per dose. Thankfully, all it takes is a bit of simple math and you can use these numbers (along with the starting dosage recommendations listed below) to find how much CBD oil to take to get the right about of CBD. Let’s just say your CBD oil dosage is 10 drops = 25 mg CBD, and Let’s say you are a 180-pound male with medium pain. Your starting dosage per the chart below would be 22.5 mg. Rather than take too much too soon, we can figure out how much CBD each drop contains by dividing 25 by 10. 25 divided by 10 = 2.5mg. So, each drop of CBD oil contains 2.5 mg of CBD. Now we can take our starting dosage (22.5 mg) and divide it by 2.5 mg to find out how many drops we need. 22.5 divided by 2.5 = 9, It takes 9 drops to administer 22.5 mg of CBD. If you come up with a decimal say It’s 5.2 drops it is going to be nearly impossible to give yourself 0.2 of a drop, so round this number to 5. If the number after the decimal is five or higher, consider rounding up instead of down.
